Finished Unframed Blue Bonnet by Paula Vaughan Cross Stitch Piece
Handmade Cross Stitch Piece.
This is a beautifully stitched cross stitch piece from an estate auction. It was stitched by Violet from Florida.
The pattern used is a vintage design from Paula Vaughan called Blue Bonnet from the Leisure Arts Book One named Summers Remembered. It was a Leisure Arts leaflet 392 that was first published in 1985. The cross stitch pattern features a fan style quilt draped over a barbed wire fence with flowers all around. The design also features a wood chair with a blue floral cushion and a blue bonnet draped over the back of the chair. Behind the chair is a wood fence post and in the front is a basket with sewing supplies.
This piece has been cleaned, deodorized and pressed. It is ready to be used however you choose.
This adorable pattern could be worked into a pillow or framed for a wall hanging.
The finished stitched piece is square and measures approximately 4-1/2" from top to bottom and 4-1/2" from side to side.
This peaceful design is stitched on a piece of cloth measuring 7" from top to bottom and 10-1/4" from side to side so there is plenty of fabric to be able to use the scene however you wish.
Most people either frame these pieces or use them to make pillows, wall quilt hangings or stitch them into some other project.
Quilters use them as accent pieces to quilt around to make a special quilt or pillow.
