Finished Unframed Ma Ella's Crazy Quilt Cross Stitch Piece -Stitched 1 Over 1
Handmade Cross Stitch Piece.
This is a beautifully stitched cross stitch piece from an estate auction. It was stitched by Violet from Florida.
The pattern used is a Leisure Arts leaflet number 709 named Ma Ella's Crazy Quilt and the designer was Betty Morris Hamilton. It features two girls dressed in pink and blue dresses having a tea party with their stuffed bear on a very colorful crazy quilt. The bear is wearing a blue ribbon and the girls each have beautiful hats.
This item is stitched using all DMC cotton floss. It is stitched on green/blue Aida cloth. The stitching in very detailed and is stitched 1 over 1 which gives the overall piece a much more detailed and delicate look.
This piece has been cleaned, deodorized and pressed. It is ready to be used however you choose.
This adorable pattern could be worked into a pillow or wall hanging.
The finished stitched piece is rectangle and measures approximately 6-3/4" from top to bottom and 9" from side to side.
This adorable pattern is stitched on a piece of cloth measuring 13" from top to bottom and 15-3/4" from side to side so there is plenty of fabric to be able to finish the piece out however you wish.
Most people either frame these pieces or use them to make pillows, wall quilt hangings or stitch them into some other project. Quilters use them as accent pieces to quilt around to make a special quilt or pillow.
