Finished Unframed Paula Vaughan Pattern - Garden of Eden Stitched 1 over 1

This piece was found in an estate sale with many other nicely stitched pieces. It was stitched by Violet from Florida.

The chart used is a Paula Vaughan pattern that was first published as Leisure Arts Leaflet 2841 in 1996. This was part of a 12 piece series called Quilts From The Bible. This one is Garden of Eden.

The finished piece features a pink intricately designed quilt hanging over a fence. The beautiful quilt is surrounded by pink roses and yellow, purple and pink Iris flowers. The fence post has a decorative heart on top and there is a hat laying on the ground with a blue ribbon.

This item is stitched using all DMC cotton floss.  It is stitched on a cream 22 count Aida cloth.  The stitching in very detailed and is stitched 1 over 1 which gives the overall piece a much more delicate look.  

This piece has been cleaned, deodorized and pressed.  It is ready to be used however you choose.  

The finished stitched piece is rectangle and measures approximately 5" from top to bottom and 7" from side to side.

This classic Paula Vaughan piece is stitched on a piece of cloth measuring 7" from top to bottom and 10-1/2" from side to side so there is plenty of fabric to be able to finish the piece out however you wish. 

Most people either frame these pieces or use them to make pillows, quilted wall hangings or stitch them into some other project.  Quilters use them as accent pieces to quilt around to make a special quilt or pillow.
