Finished Unframed Summers Remembered Cross Stitch Piece -Stitched 1 Over 1

Handmade Cross Stitch Piece.

This is a beautifully stitched cross stitch piece from an estate auction. It was stitched by Violet from Florida.

The pattern used is a vintage design from Paula Vaughan called Summers Remembered. It was a Leisure Arts leaflet 392 that was first published in 1985. The cross stitch pattern features a Dresden pattern quilt draped beside a woven basket with a block of the quilt still in the hoop as it is being finished. The basket is in front of a barbed wire fence post and there is a straw hat with a pink bow hanging on the post. Another basket holds skeins of yarn in the same colors as the quilt.

This piece has been cleaned, deodorized and pressed.  It is ready to be used however you choose.  

This adorable pattern could be worked into a pillow or framed for a wall hanging.

The finished stitched piece is slightly rectangle and measures approximately 4-3/4" from top to bottom and 4-1/2" from side to side.

This peaceful design is stitched on a piece of cloth measuring 14" from top to bottom and 10-1/2" from side to side so there is plenty of fabric to be able to use the scene however you wish.

Most people either frame these pieces or use them to make pillows, wall quilt hangings or stitch them into some other project.  

Quilters use them as accent pieces to quilt around to make a special quilt or pillow.
