Framed Finished Cross Stitch Piece by P. Buckley Moss - Best Friends
Handmade Cross Stitch Piece.
This is a beautifully stitched cross stitch piece from an estate auction. There were other items in this lot that were stitched by Barbara. This one was stitched by Pat her friend in 1997 and given to Barbara as a gift.
The pattern used is a P. Buckley Moss pattern named Best Friends. It features two Amish girls who are best friends sitting together with their dog. The scene looks very tranquil and features muted, earthy tones of purple and greens.
The cross stitch piece is made using DMC cotton threads. It is stitched on cream Aida and stitched 1 over 1.
The piece of cross stitch art has been professionally framed. It is in a classic wood frame that is in nice condition. It is finished on the back using black paper. The piece has glass over the front. It also has a triple mat board that accents the colors used in the cross stitch. The mat colors accent the stitched clothes in the piece very nicely. The frame is square and the mat board colors used are a mottled cream as the outer mat, the middle mat is a muted green that matches the girls sleeves and the inner mat is a dark charcoal gray that matches the girls shoes and buttons.
There is a note hand written on the back of the piece in the upper corner on the black backing paper that reads, "To my dear friend, Barbara, with love in every stitch, Pat."
The finished stitched piece is rectangle and measures approximately 9" from top to bottom and 13-3/4" from side to side.
The wood frame measures 13/4 thick from front to back and 1" wide in the front. The framed piece altogether measures 16-3/4" from top to bottom and 20-3/4" from side to side. As shown in the photographs it comes complete with the hanging wire and bumpers at the bottom.
This framed cross stitch piece does have glass on the front and will be shipped in a box with plenty of packing material to keep it safe.
It will come ready to hang on the wall and enjoy.
